Christian’s Mattress Xpress is a family owned and operated sleep shop with more than 20 years of exceptional customer service experience. We sell full lines of mattresses and sleep accessories from top brands (including Tempur-Pedic®, Sealy®, Helix, Avocado, Beautyrest®, Serta®, and Aireloom.) Originally headquartered in California’s Central Valley, we have expanded to the beautiful Central Coast with five convenient location and the Valley with 3 Locations. Along with our large inventory, we have brought our decades-long reputation as a leader in service, selection, and price. Our friendly, knowledgeable staff and well-organized showrooms offer customers an extraordinary shopping experience unlike any other.
Our Story
1992
The Beginning
Christian’s Solid Wood Furniture Inc. was founded in by Ron Gonzales as an unfinished furniture dealer, giving customers the freedom to choose their own custom finish. From the start, the focus has been on high-quality solid wood furniture built for durability, customization, and timeless style.
2007
The Pivot
Due to furniture becoming dependent on foreign production, Christian's made a decision to focus solely on Mattress which to this day are still mostly manufactured domestically.
2008
The Recession
During an economic recession, Christian’s created a strategic partnership between Tempur-Pedic and Costco Wholesale, launching a 10-day Tempur-Pedic roadshow across California.
At the time, Tempur-Pedic did not sell directly to Christian’s Mattress Xpress due to its smaller size, making the Costco partnership a key growth and brand-building opportunity.
Early 2012
End of an Era
Acquired by Sleep Train a 300 Store Chain and negotiated a non compete that did not include the Central Coast of California. We weren’t done yet…….

New Beginnings
Originally headquartered in California’s Central Valley, we have expanded to the beautiful Central Coast with six convenient locations in Santa Maria, San Luis Obispo, Paso Robles, Lompoc, and Arroyo Grande. Along with our large inventory, we have brought our decades-long reputation as a leader in service, selection, and price. Our friendly, knowledgeable staff and well-organized showrooms offer customers an extraordinary shopping experience unlike any other.

Central Valley Strong
With a growing need for a family-owned and operated sleep shop focused not just on low prices but on improving sleep quality, we saw an opportunity to open locations in California’s Central Valley. Our mission was to combine value with education, helping customers find the right mattress and sleep solutions for healthier, better rest.
Rooted in the Central Valley—where our family still lives, including Fresno Mayor Jerry Dyer—we are deeply connected to the local community. This commitment to family values, community trust, and better sleep continues to guide everything we do today.
